How Can You Tell If You Have A Multistage Heat Pump Or Not By Looking At The Thermostat?

i own a business and the manual honey well thermostat is so old i cant find it online so how can i tell if i have a multi state heat pump so i will know what kind of digital thermostat to buy

    I don’t recall ever seeing a multi stage heat pump, although they may make them. What you typically do see is the heat pump as first stage heat, with at least one, maybe two and possibly even three stages of backup heat, usually electric, but gas or oil is common also. If you get a modern digital thermostat, you should be able to configure it to whatever you need. I really like the Honeywell vision pro style, they’re versatile, reasonably priced, and the LCD keypad is pretty cool.
