Ac Unit Not Working After Thermostat Change?

I recently installed a 5 wire digital thermostat and now the ac unit is not working. There was an older 3 wire mechanical thermostat that I replaced. All of the documents showed the exact way that I connected it. The heater is working fine, but the ac will not come on. I threw away the old one so I cant test it again, but I have tried two digital ones. The unit is about a 2 ton Train. I am not sure how old the unit is, but it worked great before. I have tried all the breakers and redone the wiring a couple of times. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
