What Could Cause Programmable Thermostat To Shut Down Power To The Rest Of My House.?

when the thermostat shuts down air conditioning/furnace unit I lose power to almost all of my house and when the unit turns back on then the power returns to all the items that lost power.

    Have you had any Electrical work done recently? Is this programmable thermostat a new installation? If yes to either of these means you have something connected incrorrectly

    there is a problem with the power coming into your house you need to have it checked very soon….you have lost one leg of your power or your ground …call service man to check your breaker box and call power company to have them come and check meter base…this is a serious problem and i would recommend you turn your power off to keep from burning your appliances up

    that is wierd.do you have a backup power generator,maybe the contactor is cutting out a phase
