I Have A Programmable Thermostat And Was Wondering What The Most Efficient Way To Set It During The Summer Is.

Is it better to:
-set it to keep the same temperature throughout the day.
-have it off when nobody is there and then come on shortly before I come home from work
-keep it at a higher than normal temeperature and then cool it down before I get home.
Always looking to save a buck….
