We shut off and removed the heater (simple white unit) in my bedroom to install a laminated floor. Since we reinstalled the heater, it just keeps on heating to over 27C even if my programmable thermostat is set at 15C. What gives?

I’m not talking about on the outside where you push it to whatever temp you want it to. My electric furnace has always worked and my husband had to mess with it while putting up new paneling in our hallway. Now it doesn’t kick on when I move the temperature thing on the outside of the little box. I assume that when I remove the cover I would have to move something on the inside and I need to know what to do to get it back on. Thanks!
